Episode 1

• Introduce the first two main characters:  Alex and David.
• We introduce the fungus infection, and that it has taken over the world.
• Both characters sustain superficial injuries that may or may not cause them to turn
• Characters are forced to discuss their own back story, and purpose
• David represents humanity, and its stubbornness to exist after their time has passed
• Alex represents family, and her search for that which gives her purpose
• End with both seemingly ok

 

Episode 2

• Open with escape action sequence.  Upon opening the back of the truck they discover that the fungus has been tracking them, and waiting for them to emerge from the truck.
• Fungus attack, and David is forced to fend off the truck while Alex drives
• David and Alex are successful in getting away, but as soon as they are clear, Alex looks back to Check on David and crashes the truck.
• David is thrown from the truck, and Alex is knocked out.
• The last thing we see is the footsteps of what appears to be a fungus zombie taking Alex away
• David wakes up, and begins to track Alex to a small shelter nearby
• Alex is being observed by what appears to be a zombie.
• The zombie takes note of Alex’s locket.  Opens it.
• Alex comes to.  At first she’s afraid, but then she begins to relax
• David breaks in and goes to kill the zombie.  The zombie moves with a grace and fluidity that is not human
• Alex gets in between the two of them.  “STOP!  He’s my brother”

 

 

Episode 3

• Andre tells his story.  About how he was exposed to zombie blood, and it slowly turned him into what he is now
• He can hear the zombie’s thoughts, and as such he is aware that they are of a single consciousness.  They react to humans as a threat to the environment.  They are like antibodies attacking a foreign organism.  People are not good for the planet, so they are trying to remove them.
• He describes their thoughts like a song.  It’s pleasant, and he has considered going to their side
• He hasn’t gone, because he has held on to his love for Alex, and his humanity.
• David does not trust him.  After all, look at him…  He’s clearly one of them.  He can hear their thoughts?  Clearly he can’t be trusted.
• Andre doesn’t like David either.  He clearly doesn’t have his best interest at heart.
• David clings to the belief that humanity will retake its place at the top of the food chain
• Andre disagrees.  Says humanity’s time is over.
• David begins to hear something in the back of his mind.  It sounds like a song.
• David decides to leave.
• Upon leaving he discovers that some of the fungus has tracked them to where they are.
• Zombies swarm into his shelter, David fights a group of them and is fairly successful, but he is overwhelmed and some get past him.  They go straight for Alex.
• They drag in another human who's head is about to explode.  It writhes in pain and they plant him down right in front of David.  We can see its head is about to blow.
• Alex manages to escape one’s grasp.  Another goes to bite her, Andre screams “NO STOP” and suddenly all the zombies freeze.
• David gets his machete and kills all of them quickly.
• They all get up and run out just before the Zombie’s head explodes.

Episode 4

• The group of 3 has taken shelter in an abandoned cave.  They clearly are being followed
• They discuss what happened.  Andre clearly has power over the zombies
• They discover that since they have the ability to influence him, he also has the ability to influence them.
• It’s a product of his emotions.   They feel his worry for Alex, and so they stopped trying to attack her.
• He doesn’t feel that worry for David.
• David hears the song again.
• Alex asks Andre to come back to the government controlled center.  He appears to be the first one to experience something like this.  Maybe they can learn from him.  Try to find a cure
• Andre is reluctant to go, he doesn’t want to be a lab rat.
• Alex is able to convince him anyway.
• David secretly wants him to go as well, as he suspects he is slowly changing as well.
• They decide to make their way to the nearest human colony.

 

 

Episode 5

• On their way they encounter a platoon of soldiers on a mission to a nest of Fungus nearby.  The humans have developed an aerosol spray that has the ability to neutralize the fungus.  It basically melts them.
• They see a live demonstration on a captive fungus.  He screams in agony before he dies.
• Andre clearly feels for him
• David watches Andre.
• Alex asks Andre to help them take it to the nest.
• He needs to do it as way to prove his trustworthiness to the group of humans.
• Andre agrees.
• They platoon heads to the fungus home.
• It is a squad of highly trained marines, each with their own personality quirks.  (think predator 1, or aliens)
• They function as a team, and are able to arrive safely with the package.
• They then need to go into the nest.

Episode 6

• The team goes into the nest
• They descend into the hole, Andre keeps the zombies from attacking.
• Once they get into the heart of it, they plant the package.
• The leader of the marines tries to kill Andre.  He should be killed with them as far as he is concerned.
• Alex struggles with him, ends up getting critically wounded.
• David kills the leader after she is shot.
• Zombies move into the room.  Andre stops them
• Alex dies
• Andre lets David go, he is starting to exhibit symptoms that Andre has
• David asks him to come with, Andre chooses to join the ranks of the zombies
• Andre tells David to leave, fight if he wants to, but he'll hear him again... one way or another.
